One of the biggest problems I’ve found with a wheat allergy is that it has an awful lot of sneaky names, and/or can be included under a heading that you wouldn’t maybe think of. And there aren’t that many super recent sources online of those names so I decided to gather what I can and list them all here, updating as needed. Masquerading Wheat

These are things that are definitely wheat, or contain wheat, just under another name just to confuse people.

Is it or is it not wheat?

These are the things that CAN be wheat, but aren’t always. Or they sometimes have wheat in them, mixed in with the other stuff. Maybe the traditional recipe uses wheat and it’s not a food you’d think obvious. Sometimes, as in the case of oats, it’s listed because the cross contamination risk is high, though most of those are ok as long as you get the gluten free ones. But not all! So it’s a case of check each individual item that contains them, just in case.
